- How do I get Australian or New Zealand documents attested by the embassy?
- Australian documents such as divorce certificates and birth certificates must first be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in Australia.
- New Zealand documents must first be authenticated by the Department of Internal Affairs in New Zealand.
- Submit the authenticated document, a request letter addressed to the embassy, and a copy of the applicant’s visa, passport, or other photo ID.
- The fee is AUD 75.
- If sending by post, include a money order or bank cheque payable to “Embassy of Nepal, Canberra” and a self-addressed express trackable return envelope.
- Processing time is around 7 to 10 working days after the embassy receives the documents by post.
- For urgent cases, documents can be brought in person before 12:00 PM on an office day for same-day attestation.
- What documents are required for Nepali driving licence attestation or verification?
- Submit a duly filled application form, a copy of the Nepali driving licence or a print copy of the online record from the Department of Transport, Nepal, and copies of citizenship and passport.
- The fee is AUD 75.
- If sending by post, include a money order or bank cheque payable to “Embassy of Nepal, Canberra” and a self-addressed express trackable return envelope.
- If an old driving licence does not appear in Nepal’s online driving licence system, a verification letter from the Department of Transport or Transport Office, attested by the Department of Consular Services in Kathmandu, is required.
- If the driving licence details do not match the passport details, send an application letter explaining the discrepancy instead of the standard application form.
- Processing time is around 7 to 10 working days after postal receipt, and urgent in-person submissions before 12:00 PM may be attested the same day.
- How does bank guarantee or similar document attestation work?
- For a bank guarantee letter, the applicant should attend the embassy in person with the required documents.
- Required documents include the bank guarantee papers issued by the concerned bank and copies of the guarantor’s citizenship, passport, and visa.
- The bank guarantee attestation fee is AUD 150.
- “To Whom It May Concern” letters, consent letters, and similar documents are charged AUD 75.
- Seals and signatures on documents issued by Government of Nepal offices and certified or attested by the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can also be attested for AUD 75.
- If documents are sent by post, payment may be made by money order or bank draft payable to “Embassy of Nepal, Canberra”.
